PRESS RELEASE – August 2009
ONE MILLION POUND ORDER BOOK FOR FORMIT LTD

Formit Ltd, the Stourbridge based specialists in roll forming technology, are delighted to have received orders for machinery and tooling for more than one million pounds despite the current economic climate.

After a slow start to the year, when everything in manufacturing stopped due to the recession, Formits order book since May has included, among others, coil process lines and roll formers to produce steel cladding, metal furniture, tubes, crash barrier and plasterers angle bead. This brings the total order book to well over a million pounds and secures the future of the company for the next year.

Formit specialise in the design and assembly of roll forming, coil processing and press feeding equipment and have built a solid reputation for quality at a cost effective price with strict timescales.

All machining is sub-contracted to other local Midland companies ensuring these also are maintaining high order books.

Jim Bain, Managing Director of Formit, says These orders consolidate our position as a leading supplier in the rollforming industry and maintains our ethos of supplying the total package from start to finish.

PRESS RELEASE – February 2008
FORMIT LTD SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION OF GARAGE DOOR PRODUCTION LINES

Formit Ltd have completed the installation and integration of two roll forming lines at the Durham works of P C Henderson Ltd the leading manufacturer of garage doors in the UK.

The two lines produce the majority of new garage doors and include a pre-pierce line from coil with five punch stations, transfer conveyor system and a 32 pass roll former to produce the chassis (frame) of the garage door. The chassis section is a complex closed box profile with mitred edges at 45 degrees which must be very accurate to accept a cast corner piece to produce the frame of the door.

The second line includes a unique rotating duplex roll former which is controlled by servos for width and rotates to produce either a left hand, a right hand or centre spacer panel which fits into the chassis assembly. Each garage door is produced individually and is controlled by the mainframe computer which selects the cut blank from the cut to length line, roll forms the ribs in the panel on Formit supplied tooling and then rolls the edge profiles on the rotating duplex roll former. The finished panels are then transferred to an assembly station where the chassis is waiting and spot welded into the frame.

Both lines were completed on time and on budget and the Managing Director of P C Henderson, Vicky Brockley, commented “The equipment Formit produced, which you can see in our new brochure, is fantastic. It is now producing our new range of doors which will secure the future of this business for a very long time to come. I can honestly say I have dealt with many companies and truly would never recommend one as highly as yours and look forward to working with you again.”

Jim Bain, Managing Director of Formit Ltd, says “It has been a pleasure to work with P C Henderson on this complex project. The help and support of their implementation team contributed towards this outcome and we are proud that this revolutionary, state of the art, roll former has been so successful.”

Formit Ltd specialize in roll forming technology and design and manufacture complete turnkey production lines as well as press feeding and coil processing equipment.
